New Race Series Announced
A new ultracycling race series that includes three popular long standing races has been announced for the 2012 racing season. USA Race organizers of Calvin’s Challenge, The National 24-hour Challenge and The Ultra Midwest have joined forces to establish the Heartland Triple Crown. The series, a first of its kind for the midwest, will offer racers an opportunity to experience the challenge of a competitive race series without requiring the extensive travel expenses of a larger series.
Specific details have not been announced at this time, but organizers have promised that “If you are one of those that like head to head competition then this 3 race series is for you. The competition pits racer against racer at the same races, with the same routes, same weather, same format and accepts no excuses.” Racers who participate in all 3 events during the 2012 season will be eligible for combined High Mileage Awards.
